Join us on Tuesday, November 6th, from 7–8 pm for a cozy evening with our community book club as we dive into The Witches of Eastwick by John Updike. Copies of the book will be available for purchase in the shop!
The Witches of Eastwick by John Updike tells the story of Alexandra Spofford, Jane Smart, and Sukie Rougemont, three recently divorced women in a quiet Rhode Island town who develop supernatural powers. Their coven is disrupted by the arrival of the mysterious and flamboyant Darryl Van Horne, who seduces each of them, leading to scandal and rivalry. The novel is a dark satire that explores themes of female power, societal hypocrisy, and personal desires, with the witches' newfound abilities resulting in both empowerment and destructive consequences.
