Wax Anatomical Heart Workshop

Step into the fascinating intersection of science and art in this 2.5-hour hands-on workshop inspired by the Italian anatomical wax sculptors of the 18th century.
Using life-sized beeswax heart forms, you’ll learn to carve, refine, and pigment anatomical details, from delicate veins to muscle textures capturing the beauty and complexity of the human heart in striking detail. These realistic models were once used for medical study and museum displays, now reimagined as hauntingly beautiful objects of art.
In this class, you’ll:
Shape and sculpt surface detail using carving and heat tools
Add color with powdered pigments and paint and finish your piece for display
Mount your completed heart on a wooden base, ready for showcasing under a glass cloche or in your cabinet of curiosity
All materials provided. No experience necessary.
